8. Amendments to the Statutes

  1. Amendments to the Statutes can be decided only at the General Assembly meeting, either at the World Statistics Congress or in the even-year meetings.
  2. Proposals for amending the Statutes can be submitted by the Executive Committee.
  3. Proposals can also be submitted by individual members and must be signed by at least 10 members. The delivery of the proposal must respect the time schedule in this article.
  4. The President shall transmit the proposals to all members at least 10 days before the General Assembly. The President may also transmit, at the same time, the views of the Executive Committee and the Council on the proposals.
  5. A simple majority of the votes is required for the amendment to be successful, except in the case of a vote for dissolution of the Society, which requires a two-thirds majority.
  6. The dissolution of the Association or the alteration of its name shall be treated as an amendment of its Statutes.
